I Began my forey into game development in 2017 by making animations in Blender at home on my spare time. This got me into 3D modelling and to study 3D graphics and game development for two years at Södertörn University. I learned a lot of things there, one of them being that I´m more inclined towards design and so switching to TGA and study level design felt like the right choice.

At TGA I was able to further deepen my knowledge with software such as, Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya and many more. I have learned to work as a level designer in an agile work environment in order to create a total of eight collaborative projects.

I’m Vilgot, a level design student at The Game Assembly in Stockholm. I began my journey into games when my uncle brought home a Playstation 1 from Japan with a mountain of demo disks for different games. Since then I've been playing games most of my free time and have always found it fun to try and figure out what I would change in order to make the game better or what about a game makes it good.

But it was Half-Life 2 that opened my eyes to level design and I draw a lot of inspiration from its design in my own levels. I have always been drawn to first person games that focus on player agency, critical thinking and immersion.

Some of my favorite games:

  • Half-Life 2

  • Sly 2

  • God of War 3

  • Dishonored

  • Outer Wilds

  • Return of the Obra Dinn

  • Gremlins Inc

  • Titanfall 2

  • BF: Bad Company 2
